POEM - The Poetry of Sleep

It is humming
Somewhere around my ears
A song like the rhythmic moans
Of ragged Tuvan throat singers
Three dissonant voices
In cacophonous harmony
Carry my mind to wandering
Seemingly on alternate planes
In different paths
Leisurely chasing
Every passing thought
Ethereal deception
I think I can push
Force it out and away
But it is heavy
Unyielding
Like chopping water
Or catching the wind in your fist
Slipping and twisting
Laying in
And you fall
Deeply
To a rich velvety
Comatose
Void
